These mobile ice units needed to work anywhere - not just where utility power happens to be available. That's the whole point of a build like this. The client needed reliable ice production that could move with the job, so we came in and handled the entire electrical system from the ground up.
Every circuit, every conduit run, every connection inside these containers was built fresh. We wired up the Manitowoc ice machines, tied in the exhaust fans for heat management, and ran everything clean and tight through the container walls. The conduit work is intentional - nothing loose, nothing sloppy. When this thing gets loaded onto a truck and hauled to a job site, the wiring isn't going anywhere.
The generator inlets are what make these units truly portable. Instead of depending on a permanent power source, each container has a weatherproof inlet mounted low on the exterior wall. Plug in a generator, and you've got full power to everything inside. It's a simple detail that makes a massive difference in how flexible these units can actually be in the field.
This is the kind of new electrical construction work we genuinely enjoy - custom solutions built for real-world conditions. It's not a standard panel swap or a service call. It's thinking through how a piece of equipment is going to be used and making sure the electrical system holds up to that reality. That takes planning, and it takes doing the work right the first time.
Whether it's a containerized setup like this or a more traditional build, the approach is the same. Clean installs, solid connections, and power you can count on no matter where the job takes you.
